Job Description and Position
The Department of Economics and Management (dSEA) is seeking Expressions of Interest for a Full Professorship in Public Economics (Scientific Sector SECS-P/03). Applications by candidates of any nationality are welcome.

The Full Professor position is tenured, full time, with a teaching load of 120 contact hours per academic year.

The salary is subject to employee-paid social security contributions and Italian income tax. Depending on individual circumstances (e.g., being non-Italian resident for the past two years), the successful candidate may qualify for generous tax exemption (here for an unofficial but clear explanation of the mechanism at work).

Profile
Candidates should provide evidence of continued and sustained ability to publish in highly ranked peer-reviewed scientific journals on topics related to Public Economics/Public Finance. Our Department attaches great value to the ability of securing research funding through competitive bids both at the national and especially at the international level. Candidates should also demonstrate to have long standing teaching experience in Public Economics and related areas. Teaching experience at recognized international institutions is particularly valuable. The successful candidate is expected to teach at both undergraduate and graduate level, and to take up service positions at the Department level.

Qualifications and Requirements
According to the Italian legislation, eligible candidates must have formally obtained a PhD in Economics or related areas. To qualify for a Full Professor position, the candidate must either hold an equivalent position as Full Professor at a non-Italian Institution and/or possess the qualification as ‘Full Professor’ obtained in any recent round (less than ten years from now) of the Abilitazione Scientifica Nazionale in any of the following scientific sectors: SECS-P03 or related.

The Selection Committee will consider applicants meeting the following conditions:

b) evidence of high-quality and innovative teaching and mentoring through student and/or peer evaluations;
c) ability in securing research funds at the national and international level;
d) ability to supervise PhD students and support early-career researchers;
e) fluency in English.

Approximate starting date: The successful candidate is expected to start in September 2023, but the starting date is negotiable based on individual circumstances.
