Lifelong Learning and Executive Education
DSEA considers Lifelong Learning and Executive Education an important channel through which academic knowledge can support professionals, organisations and society throughout changing economic, technological and social contexts.
The Department develops research-led learning opportunities for professionals, specialists, managers, entrepreneurs and graduates seeking to update their knowledge, acquire new competences or redirect their professional development.
Through advanced training, short professional courses, digital learning and programmes developed in collaboration with other academic and professional communities, DSEA translates its expertise in economics and management into flexible and practice-oriented learning experiences.
Executive Education is an emerging but strategically relevant component of the Department’s engagement with professional communities, public institutions, organisations and civil society. Its value is understood primarily in terms of knowledge transfer, professional development and the translation of academic expertise into practice-oriented learning, rather than solely as a source of income.

Economic, managerial and professional contexts are evolving rapidly. Digital transformation, artificial intelligence, sustainability transitions, demographic change and new regulatory frameworks require individuals and organisations to continuously update their knowledge and capabilities.

Quality, Governance and Academic Responsibility
DSEA’s Lifelong Learning and Executive Education activities operate within the University of Padova’s institutional framework, which regulates programme approval, admission, financial sustainability, certification and quality assurance.
Each programme is supported by clearly defined academic responsibilities. Course Directors and Steering Committees oversee learning objectives, programme content, teaching contributions, participant profiles and the coherence of delivery with academic and professional standards.
Participant feedback supports programme review and continuous improvement, informing decisions concerning content, teaching methods, scheduling and delivery formats.
Since 2025, the development of this area has been coordinated at departmental level by a dedicated Executive Education lead, with responsibility for strengthening portfolio coherence, strategic alignment and organisational capacity.
