Biography of Andrea Rinaldo

Andrea Rinaldo has been a professor of hydraulic engineering at the University of Padua. He is an Emeritus Professor at the 'School of Architecture, Civil and Environmental Engineering (ENAC)' and the current President of the Veneto Institute of Sciences, Letters, and Arts. He has won the Stockholm Water Prize, the most prestigious award for water studies in the world. A member of several important scientific academies, such as the Accademia dei Lincei, the National Academy of Engineering, and the National Academy of Sciences, Professor Rinaldo is the first Italian to receive this significant recognition, comparable to a Nobel Prize for Water, for his studies on the relationship between river networks, populations, and health.
