The Department of Economics and Management of the University of Padua is seeking excellent candidates to fill the following academic position:
Full Professor (with tenure) in Economics (13/A1 – SECS-P/01 Economia Politica)

Qualifications and requirements: Eligible candidates must have formally obtained either the Italian National Habilitation to Full Professor (ASN) in SECS-P/01 Economia Politica, or should hold an equivalent position at an International University (e.g.Full Professor).
Job starting date: From January 2024 onwards, with some degree of flexibility
Job duration: Permanent
Salary and Workload: the annual gross salary is approx—€ 74.000. Net of social security contributions, salary is approx. 3.450 (13 monthly instalments) subject to bi-annual increases conditional to approval. Depending on individual circumstances (e.g., being non-Italian resident for the past two years), the successful candidate may qualify for generous tax exemption (here for an unofficial but clear explanation of the mechanism at work). The position is full-time and entails a teaching load of 120 hours per year (not negotiable).

The Department of Economics and Management of the University of Padova invites applications for a position of Full Professor (with tenure) starting at the beginning of 2024. Applications by candidates of any nationality are welcome. Knowledge of English is a necessary requisite. 

Profile
The ideal candidates should have a PhD in Economics, or siblings’ disciplines, obtained from an Italian or foreign institution, and preferably relevant academic experience in prior positions making her/him eligible to apply for an ERC Consolidator or Advanced Grants (e.g., more than 6 years experience).

Applicants should provide evidence of a continued and recognized ability to publish in high quality scientific journals in the areas of economics.

The successful candidate is expected to teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate level in the general field of economics and in digital economics. The majority of the teaching will be delivered at the Department of of Public, International and European Union Law and at the Department of Private Law and Critique of Law.

Teaching experience at recognized international institutions is particularly valued.

The successful candidate must display an ability to work within national and international networks of scholars within their respective research clusters. 

The Department particularly values the ability in securing research funding through competitive bids both at the national or international level. Last, candidates should demonstrate a willingness in taking up service position at the Department level.

The Department is particularly interested in applicants who will contribute to the activities of the research groups in the fields of economics, as well as to the enhancement of innovative teaching. Interested applicants need to meet the following conditions: a) demonstrate a sustained publishing track record in leading peer-reviewed international journals; b) evidence of high-quality teaching; c) ability to supervise PhD students and support early career researchers; d) proficiency in spoken and written English.
