Michele Fabrizi elected new Head of the Department of Economics and Management “Marco Fanno”

Professor Michele Fabrizi is the new Head of the Department of Economics and Management “Marco Fanno” at the University of Padua as of October 1, 2025.

“It is a great honor for me to take on the leadership of the Department of Economics and Management 'Marco Fanno' for the next four-year term, 2025–2029.
I sincerely wish to thank my colleagues for the trust they have placed in me, as well as Professor Paola Valbonesi for the valuable work carried out during her term.
In the coming years, I will be strongly committed to further strengthening our Department’s position of excellence in research, teaching, and social impact, by promoting an inclusive and attentive model of leadership.”


Michele Fabrizi is Full Professor of Corporate Finance at the Department of Economics and Management “Marco Fanno” of the University of Padua. Throughout his career within the Department, he has held several institutional roles, including Deputy Director of the PhD Program, Coordinator of the Excellence Project, and member of the Executive Board of the Bachelor's degree in Economics.

He currently serves as Chair of the Department’s Teaching Committee, President of the Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance and Business Consulting, and Director of the Professional Master in Accounting & Corporate Finance, which he founded in 2021.

Professor Fabrizi earned his PhD in Economics and Management at the University of Padua, following a period of study and research at Boston University (USA).

His research focuses on three main areas: the economic effects of mafia infiltration into the legal economy, the analysis of discretionary corporate reporting choices, and the sources of uncertainty in capital markets. His work has been published in prestigious international journals such as the Journal of Accounting Research, European Accounting Review, European Journal of Finance, and Journal of Business, Finance & Accounting.
