QED: Network of Distinguished Schools of Economics Across Europe

The Quantitative Economics Doctorate (QED) is a networking program that connects leading doctoral programs in economics across Europe. A key component of the program is the work-in-progress workshops, which bring together participants from all partner institutions to share and discuss their research as part of their PhD training.

The network focuses on student exchanges, facilitated through Erasmus+, and PhD education.

Member Institutions:

  • University Paris I (Panthéon-Sorbonne), France
  • University of Alicante, Spain
  • University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands
  • University of Bielefeld, Germany
  • University of Copenhagen, Denmark
  • University of Padua, Italy
  • University of Vienna, Austria
  • Cardiff University, UK

Each year, PhD candidates and faculty members from these institutions come together to exchange ideas, present their work, and contribute to engaging academic discussions.

PhD candidates interested in an exchange term or short visit at a QED partner university can contact their local QED coordinator for more information.
