The UN theme for International Women's Day on 8 March 2024 is "Invest in women: Accelerate progress".

To celebrate the day at the Department of Economics and Management of the University of Padua we are offering a one-day Workshop entitled “Intercultural Competence, Diversity & Inclusion”.

The Workshop is reserved for Master's degree students at dSEA.

The first two hours of the workshop will be entirely dedicated to women students and will explore themes such as identity and self-awareness, building self-esteem, confidence and assertiveness, and supporting personal and professional goals.
These themes are immense and complex, so we will be 'deep diving' into the topics with the aim of giving you some very concrete and practical takeaways, working in break-out groups so as to stimulate learning through shared reflection.

The rest of the day will be open to all genders and will explore personal leadership style, intercultural communication and the value of diversity for enhanced innovation, creativity and performance.

The Workshop will conclude with a 'classic' teamworking exercise which aims to demonstrate the power of teamworking (when each member willingly and intentionally makes the team's interests and objectives their first priority) and offers a quantitative result that demonstrates the difference between performance as an individual and as a team player.

9.00-11.00 am: Part 1: only for women students
Identity and self-awareness; Taking control, building self-esteem and goal setting; Your personal leadership style and values

11.30 am-5.30 pm: Part 2: for all students
11.30 am-1.00 pm: Session 1. Valuing and mapping diversity
2.00-3.30 pm: Session 2. Bridging the differences
4.00-5.30 pm: Session 3. Integrating the differences

The Workshop will be held by Dr. Jane Everett, an expert in Personal Development Coaching & Training, Professor at LIUC-Università di Castellanza and EPFL Lausanne.
