Padova, 12 December 2025
Barco Teatro, Via Orto Botanico, Padova

The Department of Economics and Management of the University of Padua, is proud to announce the Workshop 'Advancing in Labor and Education Economics', organized in honor of Professor Giorgio Brunello, whose distinguished career has significantly contributed to the development and international reputation of our Department.

Professor Giorgio Brunello is a world-renowned applied economist whose scientific contributions have profoundly advanced our understanding in three crucial areas of economic analysis: labor economics, education economics, and health economics. His career is distinguished by a unique intellectual trajectory, beginning with an in-depth immersion in the Japanese institutional context and extending to a comparative analysis of European systems. This global perspective, combined with impeccable methodological rigor, has produced a body of research of extraordinary originality and impact.

Beyond his research excellence, Professor Brunello has demonstrated a rare ability to translate scientific findings into actionable recommendations for public policy on behalf of international organizations such as UNESCO, the OECD, and the European Commission. His service within academic institutions and his dedication to educating new generations of researchers complete the profile of a scholar who has brought great prestige to the Department of Economics and Management and to the University of Padua as a whole.
