This study, published in the  Journal of Industrial and Business Economics, explores how cultural factors influence international trade at a regional level, focusing on imports of Made in Italy products. It examines the impact of Italian migrants and universities teaching Italian culture and language on regional imports of Italian goods like food and fashion. Using data from 147 regions outside Italy, findings show a positive link between these cultural elements and increased imports of Italian products.
