We are pleased to welcome Nicolàs GarcÍa Torea, Associate Professor of Accounting at the University of Burgos, for this lecture series as part of the Corporate Governance, Accountability and Ethics course, included in our Bachelor's degree in Economics.
Beyond board diversity, research has pinpointed to the emergence of subgroups linked to the alignment of individuals’ attributes as influencing the decision-making process of a board of directors.
In each of the three sessions, Prof. Nicolàs GarcÍa Torea will delve into notions of board diversity, board faultlines and board groupthink to discuss how board dynamics can unfold and affect the quality of the strategic advice they provide. His lectures will combine a discussion of the key theoretical concepts which practical activities and exercises.
