Introduction to Python
The Department of Economics and Management "Marco Fanno" is pleased to offer to its second-year Master's degree and Ph.D. students a new course in the area of data analysis, machine learning, and Artificial Intelligence:
INTRODUCTION TO PYTHON
Teacher: Dr. Caggiano Emanuele, Department Department of Economics and Management "Marco Fanno"
Period: between November 7 and December 6, 2022 (4.30 pm - 6.30 pm) - Mondays and Tuesdays
The course is extra-curricular, does not provide credits, and will be held in person in the Multifunctional Laboratory of Economics and Management (LEM) located on the second floor of the Department of Economics and Management, Via Bassi 1 (Padova).
Eligible students can freely enroll via Moodle.
This course introduces participants to the basics of coding in Python in the field of economics. After preliminary classes, where the basics of coding are going to be taught, the course aims to provide the fundamentals of web scraping and text analysis. The competencies acquired can be applied in the private sector and for pursuing research activities.
Learning Python is a requirement to be proficient in data analysis, including machine learning and big data analytics, and it is a fundamental step to ride the wave of technological innovation.
This course introduces the attendants to the basics of coding in Python and the use of the fundamental libraries for data analytics.
Interested students are suggested bringing their own PC to class and registering on the Moodle platform where instructions for installing Python will be provided.
