Workshop on Research Opportunities in Accounting, Finance and Public Policies

Call for applications 

The Department of Economics and Management "Marco Fanno" at the University of Padua is pleased to announce a two half days workshop showcasing research opportunities for prospective PhD candidates in Accounting, Finance and Public Policies on 9-10 October 2025.

This event offers insights into doctoral research at one of Italy's most prestigious universities. The workshop is designed for Masters’degrees students interested in pursuing doctoral studies or exploring research opportunities in the fields of accounting and. It offers a unique opportunity to explore first-hand what a PhD entails and which are the distinctive features of our 4-years programme.

The workshop will feature a keynote speech - Prof. Rebecca De Simone (University of Michigan – Ross) - and presentations from faculty. Participants will be exposed to ongoing research projects, providing a glimpse into the current focus areas and methodologies featuring in our PhD programme. During this workshop, participants will:

  1. Explore the PhD journey and learn about the structure and requirements of our 4-year PhD programme, including research focus areas, supervision, and career prospects.
  2. Network and interact with current PhD candidates, alumni, and faculty members.
  3. Gain insights into the coursework that form the foundation of our PhD programme.
  4. Experience the rich cultural and academic environment of our historic city.

Application process:
Selected applicants (outside of Padua) - will receive financial support covering transportation (train or flight, whichever more convenient) and one night hotel accommodation. Meals are also provided.
Ideal candidates are those likely to complete their MSc degree before September 2026 and have a strong interest in pursuing a research carreer. To apply, please submit
