ERS Projects

Organizational climate monitoring and student feedback collection

Survey on Organizational Climate and Equity in Treatment
The survey on ERS issues, organizational climate, and equity is part of a series of initiatives launched by the ERS Committee as part of a broader project to monitor and improve the university environment (Strategic Plan 2022–2024).
The survey targets research fellows, faculty members, PhD students, technical and administrative staff, and researchers, with the aim of fostering a more positive and equitable organizational climate within the Department.

Permanent and Mandatory Survey on Discrimination and Harassment, Addressed to All Graduating Students
The Department aims to raise awareness of equity, inclusion, and sustainability by launching a survey focused on students’ perceived well-being at the end of their undergraduate or graduate studies.
The survey is mandatory for all students prior to graduation and is designed to ensure eligibility for degree conferral.
Through this initiative, the Department seeks to create an increasingly inclusive academic environment, one that is environmentally responsible and aware of the challenges students may face throughout their academic journey.

  Fostering professional development

Ongoing Mentorship Program for Early-Career Researchers and Research Fellows
As part of the Department’s commitment to becoming increasingly inclusive, ethical, responsible, and sustainable, a mentoring program has been established for early-career researchers.
Each participating researcher is assigned a mentoring committee composed of two senior faculty members from the Department.
The goal of the program is to integrate junior researchers into all aspects of academic life, support the development of professional relationships within dSEA, and foster their career advancement.

Ongoing Staff Development Program for Full and Associate Professors
The “dSEA Staff Development” initiative was launched to strengthen dialogue between faculty members and the Department’s leadership, with the dual aim of promoting the development of the Department and creating a more inclusive, responsible, and sustainable work environment—one that prioritizes the well-being of its members.
Regular meetings are held between faculty and leadership to discuss key topics such as research goals, teaching and training commitments, participation in third mission activities, development of external relations, challenges in achieving objectives, and strategies for overcoming them.
The ERS Committee is responsible for monitoring and implementing the project.

Promoting awareness of equity, inclusion, and non-violence

Initiative: “People & Planet over Profit: For Fair Work and a Sustainable Environment”
In collaboration with the “A. Modigliani” State Art High School of Padua, dSEA launched a competition to collect ideas for the creation of artistic panels (murals) to decorate the interior walls of the building at Via Bassi 1. The aim is to raise awareness among students, faculty, and staff of dSEA about Ethics, Responsibility, and Sustainability within the framework of the Third Mission Project.

The Red Chair in the Department Classrooms
To educate and raise awareness against violence toward women, a red chair has been placed in the center of the teaching classrooms at the Department, located at Via Bassi 1.
This is a concrete gesture dedicated to all women who are victims of violence, aimed especially at raising awareness among the Department’s students.
