Project organizing: a focus on the construction industry

The conference aims to discuss the results of PROFILI, a 30 months European project of cross-border cooperation lead by the Regione del Veneto, whose goal is the creation of an information system to integrate and coordinate knowledge, skills and technologies held by players in the construction sector in the transnational area Italy-Slovenia.

Project partners are: INFORMEST, Consorzio Distretto Veneto dei Beni Culturali, ANCE Venezia, CNA Ravenna, Unioncamere del Veneto, Università degli Studi di Padova, URES, ANCE Trieste, GZS, OOZ Nova Gorica, OOZ Sezana, ZAG.

The empirical evidence provided by the research conducted at the University of Padova opened up a discussion over the project organizing at large, whose implications for academy, government and industry are presented in this two-days conference. 

Objectives

The conference has three main objectives:

• to encourage the discussion about project organizing and forms of public procurement in the construction industry;
• to develop coherent methodologies for the analysis of project organizing, evaluating the potential of social network analysis tools;
• to provide some policy implications on how to support PPP initiatives.
